God is Dead

We carpool with another family in the neighborhood...which is very convenient! Jack (age 5) and Hannah are a lot like brother and sister-- their nickname is "The Bickersons". They bicker for the sake of bickering. It can get old, but sometimes it can be funny.

So yesterday on the way to school, Jack notices that my stomach has gotten quite large. He asks me if the baby is in there right now. Yes, I answer. So, does the baby move in there? Yes, I say. He/She kicks me and I feel the baby move. So Hannah chimes in and says that God made the baby and that God made her too. Well, Jack says, God made me too (in a nanny nanny boo boo tone). Then Hannah tells Jack that God is a man, but he is dead now. Na-uh says Jack.

I had to chime in and tell them that God is not dead. He's everywhere and in everything. Thanks goodness we were saved by the carpool line and then it was time for them to get out of the car. Shew!

Note to self: Do a better job explaining who/where God is!

Update on Baby #3

My last appointment was January 14th. I took the blood glucose test and passed! They did tell me that I'm low on iron and to start eating more iron rich foods. The baby measured about 25 weeks and the heart rate was in the 140s. Still not finding out if it's a boy or a girl! Now I'm 27 weeks and look like I'm about 35 weeks. I guess with the 3rd everything expands a little more quickly!

The baby is really active and I think Hannah actually felt a kick the other day. I think we can pass the hearing test in the hospital because I'm about 99% sure this baby can hear! Every time music comes on or there is a loud noise, he/she jumps! It's still so amazing to me to feel and watch the baby move in my stomach. We are so very blessed!

I go to the doctor again February 11th. Until then, I guess I'll keep growing!

It's Official

Reilly is potty trained! We're super excited to be "Diaper Free" for about 3 months until the new baby comes! (Well, he still uses them at night, but we'll take what we can get!)

BCS Championship Game

Mommy & Daddy were lucky enough to go to the BCS National Championship game this past weekend in Glendale, Arizona! Auburn played Oregon for the title and WON!!! We are on top of the world right now! We owe a BIG HUGE GIGANTIC THANK YOU to G & Pop who watched the kids while we were gone. Not only did they keep the kids for 5 days straight-- 3 of those days they were iced in --- as in COULD NOT go anywhere. School was cancelled all week due to the icy roads and still today were not that great to drive on. I'm not quite sure how they managed to not go stir crazy!!

Christmas Card Outtakes

This year we didn't have to take near as many Christmas Card photos as we have in the past. I may have figured out the magic trick of hanging huge colorful lollipops over the photographers head to bribe them to smile big for the camera!
Whoa, Daddy, that's a HUGE lollipop over your head!

Daddy said we have to smile big and do whatever he says. Reilly's not sure he's going to be able to handle this.

Oh... he said touchdown Auburn. Natural reaction!

Can we have our lollipops yet?

This was so worth the wait! So glad we got that behind us!

Santa

This year, Reilly was REALLY into Santa. Here he is in awe of the big fella! We had an awesome Christmas this year. Our elf, Christopher Robin, kept us on our best behavior. Every morning the kids would wake up to see where Christopher Robin had 'landed'. At night, "CR" would go to the North Pole to give Santa a full report on how the kids had been that day. They must have been really good overall, because they racked up on Christmas morning!

Reilly's Unbirthday

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week visiting lots of family! During the trip, we were able to get both sides of the family together (that were in town) for a family dinner.

As we are clearing the dinner plates and getting out the dessert plates, Reilly asks when he's going to get to blow out the candles. I giggled and asked him if it was his birthday!

His response - "Uh, Yeah!"

Our friend, Mary

So we've officially hit the terrible 2 age with Reilly. A couple weeks ago, he was pitching a fit and I put him in his bed for a little cooling off period. I took this opportunity to say a little Hail Mary for her to help me be a good mother in this situation. Hannah questioned what I was doing. I said that I was asking Mary, Jesus' mommy, to help me. We prayed it together and after the prayer was over, Hannah asked "Is she here yet?"

Nozark, Ya Know!

After picking Hannah up from her Good Shepherd class this past Sunday, I asked her what she learned about. As we're walking down the hall, she says "Nozark". Huh? Did you say Mozart (I was really confused for a second as to why they would be learning about Mozart at a church class??). She then turned around and looked at me and said "NO, NOZARK Mom! You know the guy that built the boat."!

Ahhh... Noah's Arc!

Hannah's first soccer game...

My high school soccer coach used to get made at us when we all ran to the ball. He called it the flies to crap theory... You can see why here.

NOTE- Hannah is on the green team, and is the only one with a box in her hair.

The Little Terminator

Reilly looks like a little terminator with his shades, except for the football shirt and the Capri Sun.

Halloween 2010 group

Here is the 2010 Halloween Team!

The family of 4, for now.

Here we are, in all our glory.
Halloween 2010 trivia- About 4 hours after this picture was taken, Daddy got really sick!

Add a Zombie Astronaut

We all went to Hannah's BFF's house (Evan) for a little Halloween party. Evan is a Zombie Astronaut and he is the best one we saw that night.
As you can see, Reilly is starting his night FULL of eating candy. He rode around in the wagon most of the night eating lollipops and any other candy he could get his hands on without us watching.

Direct Sunlight = Crappy pictures

So... Stephanie demanded we take a picture on the front porch and despite the family photographer pointing out the direct sunlight problems, she still insisted.. So here they are.

Brother and sister together

They make a cute brother and sister couple, next year they will have to make room for one more.

Mighty Mouse!

Reilly rocked Halloween as Mighty Mouse, the forgotten 1970s? cartoon character. It is funny almost no one we asked knew who Mighty Mouse was. I remember the show, but then again I did just turn 35. -Daddy

Strawberry Shortcake

Check out the homemade Strawberry Shortcake costume Stephanie made! She did a great job and Hannah, as you can tell, loved the costume. She wore it several times leading up to Halloween, and she was very proud every time she wore it.

There is the look!

Sometimes, as a husband, you have to worry when your wife constantly watches shows like, "I almost got away with it", "CSI- Wherever", and "Snapped". I'm just saying.

I love you Stephanie, don’t hurt me. -Daddy

Halloween pictures!

Now that Halloween and come and gone, and our friends are complaining of a lack of Halloween pictures... I present to you some Halloween pictures!

You can't see it from this angle, but Stephanie looks quite scary with a large knife in her hands. I had to protect the children. -Daddy

I Can't Make This Stuff Up

Halloween tonight...

Hannah and Reilly are getting excited about Halloween tonight! Reilly is still resting, but Hannah is already asking to put on her costume. She will be Strawberry Shortcake and Reilly is going to be Mighty Mouse!

Hannah's Soccer Medal!

Coach Jeff also gave Hannah her soccer medal! Hannah and I (Daddy) posted the team picture together and she wanted to show off her metal too!

Hannah's first soccer team!

Coach Jeff just came by and dropped off Hannah's first soccer team picture! Thanks to Coach Jeff for a great first year!

No Webkinz Allowed

Yesterday I reminded Hannah that she would get to wear her Halloween costume to school today. She responded, "Yeah, but my teacher said we couldn't bring any webkinz.". Uhhh... ok....that shouldn't be a problem.

Then I remembered reading an email from the teacher that said the children were not to bring any "weapons" to school that coordinated with their costumes. I chuckled and told Hannah that the teacher meant for them not to bring weapons. "What are weapons, Momma?"

I love her innocence!
