Through the years, all five of them...
Five now, Three then...
If you stop to think about it, how many pictures do you see of people when they are sad? Sadness is an emotion everyone experiences, but is rarely captured in images.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Reilly. I wish I could remember what he was upset about in this picture, but he was crying because he got his feeling hurt. It makes me think of how great a kid he really is. He really cares about his older sister (Hannah 7) and his younger brother (Sullivan 2), and loves his parents. If one of us is sad, he will come over and try to make us feel better.
When I am traveling and return to home after a week of traveling, I can count on Reilly to be the first to give me a "big squeeze" when I walk in the door. On weekends, he typically sleeps a bit longer than his sister, they currently share a room. But I know as soon as he wakes up and walks downstairs, he will come right over to me and give me a big hug.
Before he turned five today, he would give anyone a hug who asked, or even if they did not. I hope that doesn't change, now that he is five big years old. Mommy and Daddy could not ask for a better kid.
Go ahead Reilly, it's your birthday and you can cry if you want to (but I doubt you will).

Birthday Party Fun!
the Thompson Zoo because they have so many animals--2 roosters, 5
bunny rabbits, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. They rented a cotton candy machine
and a bounce house and the kids had a blast! It went like this:
bounce, chase the roosters, eat cotton candy, bounce, eat cotton
candy, trampoline, break piñata, play with bunnies, bounce, eat cotton
candy, bounce, trampoline. Oh...and then eat more cotton candy!! I
think they'll sleep well tonight!

Sullivan 2 Year Stats
Weight - 26 lbs 15.5oz (38%)
Height - 32 3/4 in (12%)
Head - 50 cm (82%)
Sullivan is a happy healthy growing little boy. He is so sweet to his brother and sister. He uses full sentences at times. The other day I drug him around the mall for over an hour shopping. Towards the end he said "I wide hosey now mama, peees." [translation: I ride (carousel) horsey now momma, please] How could I say no? He uses his manners most of the time - tank tu, pees, yes aam, no aam, etc. He runs and jumps and loves to play outside. This kid was born to play soccer because any ball he puts on the ground, he tries to kick it. Even the tball set we gave him for his birthday! He loved having a birthday. He ran around the house for days after and sang "happy happy erday"!
[note: the candle is in sorbet not ice cream. He still has an allergy to dairy & egg]

Happy 2nd Birthday Sullivan!!
of all places. He was so proud of himself for blowing out the
candles. He kept getting Hannah to relight them so he could blow them
out again. He's a cute little guy!!

Disney Trip
For Christmas, BB & Papa gave the older 2 kids a trip to Disney World. They told the kids that it would be up to their parents as to when they would get to go. Andrew and I decided it would be best to go during the school year to avoid some of the crowds. We also decided it would be more fun to not tell the kids until we were actually going. So last week we loaded them all up to head to the happiest place on earth! They were so VERY excited!
Day 1 - Epcot
Day 3 - Animal Kingdom
Day 4 - Hollywood Studios
Again, we met all sorts of characters. We rode Star Tours, the Great Movie Ride, saw a couple shows: Disney Junior show, Indiana Jones stunt show, Hannah & Andrew rode the Rock N Roller coaster. Mom wouldn't ride it because it goes upside down. Saw a parade. That night we had dinner at Mama Melrose's to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary!
Day 5 - Magic Kingdom round 2
we rode a lot of the same rides from day 1 at the Magic Kingdom PLUS: The Little Mermaid ride, the Winnie the Pooh ride, saw the Country Bear Jamboree. For dinner we rode the monorail over to the Contemporary Resort to have dinner with Mickey and the gang. So.much.fun! After dinner, we went back inside the park to see the parade and light show again. We concluded the trip with a most spectacular fireworks show in front of the castle. Such a magical place.
