First Reconciliation

Hannah made her First Reconciliation on Saturday. She was a nervous wreck going in but she came out like the weight of the world had been lifted off her shoulders! She was pleased her penance was only 1 Hail Mary!

Iron Bowl 2013- The Kicking Game

Sullivan really enjoyed his first football game.  Without a nap, he was really well behaved all day.  He fell asleep at the end of the third quarter and didn't wake back up until I carried him back to the tailgate (which felt like it was miles away from the stadium).  Everyone sitting near us in the stadium was impressed with how well behaved he was during the game.

2 out within 24 hours. Hoping the streak ends soon! There are still another 2 loose ones though!

Reilly's class of Halloween characters.

Reilly and his class of characters!

Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Tracey have a really great class!

Happy Halloween, 2013!

Happy Halloween from Gru, his Minion, and Batman!

Those three characters had a great Halloween, and we hope you did too.

Domino Effect

Looks like a soft diet is in her future! Almost 2 in a row. She won't let me pull this one yet...I think all she needs to do is jump up and down 3 times for this one to come out though!

Oh no!

She ate so much Halloween candy her tooth fell out! The tooth fairy is very generous with "holiday pay"!

Claw Master

Look who scored a pink hello kitty from the claw machine when nobody was looking! He had a quarter in his pocket, put it in the machine, dropped the claw, and Hello Kitty was his!

CAKE!

With eyes like that, it must be good cake!  Thanks Mom!

Reilly... Today at 5 years old

He is officially Five Big Years old today!

Through the years, all five of them...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY REILLY!

Some of Reilly's nicknames:
Rye-Rye -Hannah's name for him when he was little
Rye - Daddy's nickname for him
Super Big Guy- Daddy's nickname for him
Big Guy- a nickname he outgrew
Bye-dee- Sullivan's name for him
Meatball- Great Aunt Georgia's name for him

Five now, Three then...

HAPPY FIFTH BIRTHDAY!

If you stop to think about it, how many pictures do you see of people when they are sad?  Sadness is an emotion everyone experiences, but is rarely captured in images.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Reilly.  I wish I could remember what he was upset about in this picture, but he was crying because he got his feeling hurt.  It makes me think of how great a kid he really is.  He really cares about his older sister (Hannah 7) and his younger brother (Sullivan 2), and loves his parents.  If one of us is sad, he will come over and try to make us feel better.

When I am traveling and return to home after a week of traveling, I can count on Reilly to be the first to give me a "big squeeze" when I walk in the door.  On weekends, he typically sleeps a bit longer than his sister, they currently share a room.  But I know as soon as he wakes up and walks downstairs, he will come right over to me and give me a big hug.

Before he turned five today, he would give anyone a hug who asked, or even if they did not.  I hope that doesn't change, now that he is five big years old.  Mommy and Daddy could not ask for a better kid.

Go ahead Reilly, it's your birthday and you can cry if you want to (but I doubt you will).

Birthday Party Fun!

This afternoon we went to a good friend's birthday party. We call it
the Thompson Zoo because they have so many animals--2 roosters, 5
bunny rabbits, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. They rented a cotton candy machine
and a bounce house and the kids had a blast! It went like this:
bounce, chase the roosters, eat cotton candy, bounce, eat cotton
candy, trampoline, break piñata, play with bunnies, bounce, eat cotton
candy, bounce, trampoline. Oh...and then eat more cotton candy!! I
think they'll sleep well tonight!

Sullivan 2 Year Stats

Weight - 26 lbs 15.5oz (38%)
Height - 32 3/4 in (12%)
Head - 50 cm (82%)

Sullivan is a happy healthy growing little boy.  He is so sweet to his brother and sister.  He uses full sentences at times. The other day I drug him around the mall for over an hour shopping.  Towards the end he said "I wide hosey now mama, peees." [translation: I ride (carousel) horsey now momma, please] How could I say no?  He uses his manners most of the time - tank tu, pees, yes aam, no aam, etc.  He runs and jumps and loves to play outside.  This kid was born to play soccer because any ball he puts on the ground, he tries to kick it.  Even the tball set we gave him for his birthday!  He loved having a birthday.  He ran around the house for days after and sang "happy happy erday"!

[note: the candle is in sorbet not ice cream.  He still has an allergy to dairy & egg]

Happy 2nd Birthday Sullivan!!

Daddy is out of town so we had a mini celebration on the garage steps
of all places. He was so proud of himself for blowing out the
candles. He kept getting Hannah to relight them so he could blow them
out again. He's a cute little guy!!

Sullivan the Builder

While the rest of the family was at Disney, Sullivan was studying hard
at becoming an architect! Thank you Pop for the picture! [Side note:
the blocks did not tumble when the one he's holding was put on top.]

Disney Trip

For Christmas, BB & Papa gave the older 2 kids a trip to Disney World.  They told the kids that it would be up to their parents as to when they would get to go.  Andrew and I decided it would be best to go during the school year to avoid some of the crowds.  We also decided it would be more fun to not tell the kids until we were actually going.  So last week we loaded them all up to head to the happiest place on earth!  They were so VERY excited!

Day 1 - Epcot

it was appropriate that Mickey was the first character we met!

then Pluto (named PluDog by Reilly)

then Minnie Mouse!

then Duffy the Bear (Mickey Mouse's bear)

Day 2 - Magic Kingdom
They rode all kinds of rides (Speedway, Dumbo, Goofy's Barnstormer, Its a Small World, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Peter Pan's Flight, Buzz Lightyear ride, People Mover, Aladdin's Magic Carpet).  We went to Cinderella's Royal Table for lunch where we met Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, Jasmine, and Aurora. Later that night we went to the Electric Parade, then Disney turns the castle into a projection screen and does a really cool presentation.

So excited to be riding the Speedway (formerly Grand Prix from when I was a kid)

Dumbo!

Mom loves Dumbo too!

Lunch with the Princesses!

Every character they met signed their autograph book.

Snow White!

our little Prince

Aurora!

Ariel (she had the most personality!)

Jasmine

Buzz Lightyear, Space Ranger!

pooped out after a full day of the Magic Kingdom

Reilly gettin' some bear love!

Day 4 - Hollywood Studios
Again, we met all sorts of characters.  We rode Star Tours, the Great Movie Ride, saw a couple shows: Disney Junior show, Indiana Jones stunt show, Hannah & Andrew rode the Rock N Roller coaster.  Mom wouldn't ride it because it goes upside down.  Saw a parade.  That night we had dinner at Mama Melrose's to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary!

Jake!

Handy Manny!

Lighning McQueen! (Reilly was bummed he didn't sign his book.  Ha!)

Mater!

Phineas & Ferb

trading pins with cast members was so much fun!

Day 5 - Magic Kingdom round 2
we rode a lot of the same rides from day 1 at the Magic Kingdom PLUS:  The Little Mermaid ride, the Winnie the Pooh ride, saw the Country Bear Jamboree.  For dinner we rode the monorail over to the Contemporary Resort to have dinner with Mickey and the gang.  So.much.fun!  After dinner, we went back inside the park to see the parade and light show again.  We concluded the trip with a most spectacular fireworks show in front of the castle.  Such a magical place.
