It's my party and I'll cry if I want to... And I want to.

Next it was G and Pop's turn with Hannah and her cake. She was starting to get tired of everyone staring at her eat her cake, and she was definitely getting tired. It is hard work turning 1 year old.

BB and Papa got their turn to pose with Hannah and her cake. You can see Hannah is starting to feel a little heavy and is sliding down in her seat.

Hannah took some time off from the cake to discuss some stock diversification strategies with Papa. You can see Hannah brought up some points Papa had not considered. He was very impressed.

Daddy is in two pictures in a row, it must be a record. Thanks to Jillian for getting Daddy in front of the camera.
After eating so much icing, Daddy thought she should at least try the cake. BB did a wonderful job on the cake as always. If you are wondering, the cake was NOT low fat, but we told Hannah it was. She is always watching her girlish figure.

You can almost see the wheels turning, "Daddy just wiped icing all over my nose, I think I can return the favor." Hannah is more adult than Daddy and held back. Daddy can be so juvenile!

After Hannah spent a little time eating the cake like a little lady (sans mess), we decided to give her a fork to see if she could create a little bit more of a mess. It worked, but not like we wanted. Instead of getting more on her face, she started swinging the fork around and flinging cake on the floor and the innocent bystanders.

That is better! Daddy just "helped" her get some on her nose. There is video of Daddy "helping," but that video might get lost. -Andrew

It was almost disappointing how little cake Hannah got on her face while eating. Her Daddy eventually had to "help" her get some on her nose. Thinking about it there could be two reasons why she was so good about keeping the cake in her mouth instead of on her face:
1. Hannah is much like her mother who is a neat freak!
Or
2. Hannah is so advanced, it was more like her forth birthday, and therefore not as messy.

Hannah drew quite a crowd for her birthday! She knows she is very fortunate to have so many good friends and admirers. She wants to thank everyone who braved the incredibly long drive to the beach (traffic was bad on this holiday weekend) to she her dive into her first cake. -Management

Finally, Hannah got her birthday cake! However, an old episode of Seinfeld came on and everyone got distracted. It was the one where George got out of the cold pool and someone walked in on him changing (there was significant shrinkage). We all laughed! The candle burned down to the cake and got wax all over the cake. Since the wax is toxic we could not allow Hannah to eat it, so we threw it away and Hannah went to bed with no dinner. OK, none of that happened, but I had you going for a little while, right?

As you can see the party was about to get started. BB and G were very excited! Stephanie was too, but she saw the camera and ducked back in the doorway. Has anyone else noticed Stephanie does not appear on the site very often? That is because she goes behind Management's back and removes pictures of herself. Management is very disappointed in that kind of behavior.

But that did not stop her from trying...

Something very concerning happened on the way to the party... Hannah started trying to get into the liquor cabinet! It seems that the cake she was about to have for the first time was not good enough. The misunderstanding was cleared up and now Hannah understands that she has to wait until she is at least 15 before she starts drinking.

BB made this beautiful cake for Hannah's birthday, and Hannah's Godmother Jillian decorated it. In future pictures you will see Hannah enjoyed it quite a bit, you will also notice how advanced she is.

Hannah made the long trip to Orange Beach this weekend for her first birthday. If you think about it, it is actually her second birthday, July 1st last year being her first. If you do not believe it, check this website's archives, she even had a cake that day (she did not get to eat any that day, but she had one). Hannah is modeling her birthday dress with "G" in this picture. Hannah has become such an internet superstar; relatives came all the way from Delaware to see her on her birthday, by car. Hannah enjoyed meeting Aunt Georgia (G's sister) and Uncle Tom.

Hannah's birthday update

Hannah returned late last night from her first birthday party at the
beach. Hannah's personal photographer also returned very late last
night. Management hopes to find some time tonight to post some of the
most memorable moments from the trip. Hannah thanks all who called to
wish her a happy birthday. -Management

After Hannah had her fill of pool time, she developed a mean case of bad hair. The simple fact that she has enough hair to look bad means that she is advancing nicely.

Hannah is a very happy little girl. She very much enjoyed her pool time today. We actually took her over to the neighbor's pool, because it was a much better temperature, and Momma and Daddy were able to get in with her. She has a pool float she can sit in and ride around all day. Unfortunately, it started to rain on Daddy's camera, and we had to go home.

Even though it does not look like it, Hannah really enjoyed her pool time today. It was one of the rare times where I wish we had the video camera rolling instead of the still camera. The sounds Hannah made today were hysterical.

I guess it would be appropriate to post at least one picture where Hannah actually seems to be enjoying herself. Who cares that it is after she got out of the pool, and her parents are not within reach. That has nothing to do with why she is happy.

Hannah gave up on trying escaping the ice cold water and just laid in Momma's lap. Momma continued to pour water on Hannah's back, which was met with an annoyed cry each time. Hannah understands we are just looking out for her best interests.

Daddy persuaded Hannah that she should get back in the pool, and Hannah gladly took the suggestion. What you see in this picture is actually a trick of the camera, making things seem entirely opposite of what I just said above. This trick of the camera is not widely known, and very technical to explain. Just accept the fact that Hannah was not forced by Daddy's heavy hand to get back in the pool against her will. -Daddy

Daddy got some time with Hannah in the pool. OK, Daddy did not get in the pool, and Hannah tried her best to stay out of it. Daddy likes being in pictures with Hannah, but would rather appear behind the camera.

Coming Attractions-
Pictures from Hannah's first birthday party,
Video of her eating her birthday cake all by herself,
Pictures of her eating the cake,
The Cake itself,
Hannah standing next to the cake (before and after)
Hannah solving math puzzles,
Hannah water skiing, base jumping, and balancing plates on sticks
Other advanced things.

But she continues to dislike different feelings on her feet. Although she had these shoes on, she was upset when we made her walk on the tree bark, or "jagged Sticks of death" as she calls them. Momma and Daddy walked a couple steps away and asked her to walk to us. Hannah stood in one place refusing to move for at least 3 minutes. She was not crying, she just did not feel like moving over the "jagged sticks of death." Eventually she got over it, and we went home for the night.

Most of all Hannah liked spending some quite moments with Momma on the swing together. -Daddy

Hannah also liked the slide, but maybe not as much as this picture shows. She seemed to be a little scared when we let her slide down it, at least the first couple times. She puts on a very brave face for the camera.

You can really tell she enjoyed the swing, we will be taking her back there again really soon. -Momma and Daddy

You can see by this high speed image that Hannah has mastered the proper technique of pumping her feet to get higher in the swing. I would say this is an advanced thing to do, but that is far to obvious of a thing to say.

Hannah took her parents to the playground this weekend. She really liked the swing, although the swing was big enough to swallow her whole.

And again with the incorrect age. It is not that she is showing her incorrect age, she is showing you the equivalent advanced age she has achieved.

She insists that she is 3 or 4. Look she is showing you.

Hannah got a birthday present early. Mommy and Daddy surprised her with her first birthday box. Hannah's parents have always heard that babies/kids like the boxes more than what is inside, so we skipped the what's inside part.

It is almost Birthday time, and Hannah is getting warmed up. She is really looking forward to sinking both of her hands into that first birthday cake. It will look really good in her hair too.

Slowly but surely, Hannah is getting some hair. It is fun to see which direction it is going to end up after she plays around for a while. Momma tried desperately to brush it, but her hair goes where it wants to. I think Hannah is trying to duplicate Momma's big hair days back in the 80's.

Hannah discovered a baby doll in her room this week. She really loves holding it and hugging it. The doll was Stephanie's when she was young, and Hannah really likes her too. Hannah was nice enough to give us a little view of her two teeth in this picture.

We're Still Here

Hi. This is Hannah's Mom (aka the one without the camera). No, we have not abandoned our site. We do have some pictures that we've taken of lil' bit, but just haven't posted them. I will beg Pickle's Daddy (PDiddy) to post more pictures tonight. I think he got some good ones of us at the playground the other day!

Do I want a chocolate or vanilla birthday cake?

If I could only be a frog too!
