Snow Day

Yesterday, we got about 2-3 inches of (very rare) snow! We had a blast playing in it yesterday and today. However, we are thankful that we don't live any farther north!

Reilly is NOT a fan of getting his hands dirty...especially when "dirty" is cold. (Don't worry, he now has a pair of gloves for the next predicted snow coming tomorrow.)

This would be our 3rd snowman. The first 2 crumpled. We're blaming the first two on an inexperienced snowman builder from LA (lower alabama). After the first 2 crumbled, Hannah suggested we build a "snow friend". Maybe that would be easier.

Pop's 70th birthday!

Pop recently celebrated his 70th birthday, but he didn't know about the party!

Hannah and Reilly didn't know about the party either, they would have given it away. They loved the cake!

The Reilly Dictionary

As a Mom, I am the translator. Reilly has developed his own language --some close to English--some not so close! The frustration between Andrew and Reilly can get to be pretty funny. Andrew will look at me and ask "WHAT DOES HE WANT???". Here's a little sampling:

hot-eat = sassy (pacifier)
nee-nee = blanket
pop-beep = puppy
nack-nack = snack
hi-ya or hey-ya = Hannah
moke = milk
deuce = juice
mote = remote
hew-woe = hello / phone

Christmas 2009

I have to say this was the BEST Christmas we've had as a family! Hannah really understood the reason why we celebrate Christmas! It melted my heart to see her get SO VERY EXCITED about the baby Jesus! Reilly obviously doesn't understand why we celebrate yet, but he certainly enjoyed it nonetheless!! Put Another Dime in the Diaper, Baby!

Last week while changing Reilly I found 2 nickels in his diaper. Thanks for the tip buddy, but next time you can just hand them to me!

Hannah's School Christmas Program was today. She is front a center this year (because she's so advanced we're sure :) ) She's come a long way from last year when she was on the back row pulling her dress over her head!

Santa Visit 2009

Reilly and Hannah went to visit Santa today. Reilly screamed his head off for the first couple minutes then warmed up to him. Hannah was very intrigued by him this year. She asked him where his reindeer were. Santa told her they were at the North Pole because it gets too warm in Georgia for them! Shirley Temple No More

This morning Hannah told her Daddy that she had a "Swirly Curly" to drink at dinner last night. I think "Swirly Curly" is a much more modern/catchy name for the Shirley Temple!

That is it for the guys night out.

It was past Reilly's bedtime and he was ready to head home. Reilly wanted to thank his god-father for joining us and slipping him a couple beers under the table... His mother never lets him drink, in public.

Reilly was so impressed with the talent the staff displayed, he asked to get a picture with all of them. Reilly very much appreciates good help.

More Guys Night Out!

Gordon is Reilly's god-father, and he was able to join us to dinner and watching the game. I am certain that is what he was looking at in this picture, the game. No really, there are televisions on every wall.

Reilly enjoyed watching the football game and eating at the theme restaurant. He felt that the restaurant was delightfully tacky, yet unrefined.

18 Month Checkup

Reilly had his 18 month checkup this week. Here are his "stats":

Weight - 27 lbs 8 oz (71%)
Height - 32" (40%)
Head - 49cm (81%)

He is QUICKLY catching up with Hannah at 32 lbs. He is such a healthy, happy baby boy!

Nite Nite Kisses

It's always melts my heart when Reilly and Hannah tell each other good night. Tonight, we re-enacted it (thus losing some of the mushiness), but still captured some of their love for each other!

In the car today, we were listening to some "toddler tunes" as we do most days. Hannah says...Momma, I'm not really sure how she's "gonna ride 6 white horses".

I laughed and said "I'm not really sure either Hannah!"

Letter of the Week

Every week, Hannah's class has a "letter of the week". Last week the letter was "L". We try to challenge Hannah throughout the week to think of words that start with the letter of the week. This week she came up with lipstick, lobster, ladybug, love, light, etc. On Saturday (the official last day of the letter L), Hannah's little face lights up and says "Momma, I thought of another word!" Oh yeah? "Liquor". I hesitate and say, um, yeah, you're right. Liquor does start with the letter "L". Just then, Daddy speaks up and asks her if she means licorice. [she had eaten a twizzler the night before] She says yes. And that's the story we're sticking to.
